Towards Dirhami

The morning was beautiful and nice, even hot. We had to hide cold things from the sun when having breakfast out. The refrigerator and all the electronics had eaten all the energy from the batteries which caused a lot of concerns to the boat electrician, i.e. me… We left Lohusalu at 11.30 and started motoring until the wind picked up and we could hoist the sails. Motoring is boring but good for the empty batteries. The easterly wind turned north and later towards west. The temperature rose to 30 °C according to the log book!

Another lazy day on deck…

We are sailing 5 kn but the sea looks like there would be no wind. A strange but pleasant feeling!

The approach to Dirhami was somewhat tricky. Earlier, on the way to Dirhami, I had chosen a waypoint, a red-white safe water buoy north of Dirhami marina, but in fact, there wasn’t one. Nor did the narrow passage to the marina have the red marks visible on the plotter. I reduced the speed to minimum to minimize the damage in case we would hit one of the many rocks. Luckily we entered the marina without problems at 17.25, having sailed some 30 nautical miles.

Dirhami was a simple marina, originally made maybe for larger fishing boats. There was a petrol station, a fish restaurant, and sand. We spent most of the evening in the restaurant which had a slow and somewhat clumsy service, but the food was excellent.

Back in the boat we celebrated the nice day with an ice-cold bottle of refreshing, sparkling wine.
